Hey everyone, we're the Smiths - Shane, Jodie, and our little explorer Phoebe. Guess what? We've decided to swap the busy living for the breathtaking views of the Lake District. Mountains, waterfalls, forests, and those unbelievable sunset beaches are calling our names, and we're answering!
Life in the city, with its endless rush, noise, and pollution, just isn't cutting it for us anymore. We're craving something different – a chance to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and really appreciate the beauty around us.
Making the leap from Kent to Cumbria was... well, a bit daunting, to be honest. Leaving our family and friends behind, figuring out the best places for Phoebe to play and learn, where we will work and sussing out where to live without ending up knee-deep in water during flood season? It felt like a giant puzzle.
But here we are, diving headfirst into this adventure and we're so excited to share every bit of it with you. From our family to yours, welcome to our journey into a life where every day feels like a breath of fresh air. Let's discover what it really means to live in the moment and soak up all the beauty this world has to offer. Here’s to new beginnings and the stories we’ll tell. Cheers to lake life!
Dover has been our home for most of our lives and will always hold a place in our hearts. Famous for its stunning White Cliffs and with ferries zipping back and forth, it’s always a busy place. Dover Castle watches over the town, full of stories from days gone by. We’ve had some wonderful times exploring the cliffs, wandering through historic sites, and just enjoying the view. As we get ready for our next adventure in the Lake District, we’ll be taking lots of fond memories of Dover with us. It’s been more than just a place to live; it’s been a significant part of our family’s story.

Askham-in-Furness has a special place in our hearts. We’ve been lucky enough to visit quite a few times, and each visit has made us fall in love with it a little more. There’s something truly magical about the estuary here—it’s peaceful, beautiful, and just has this way of making you feel at ease. And the people? They’re the friendliest you’ll meet, always ready with a smile or a helping hand. We’ve had some of our best beach walks in Askham, not to mention it’s super close to Coniston Water and Grizedale Forest, which are just stunning. Honestly, it feels like everything we love about the outdoors is right here. So, we’ve made a big decision: Askham is where we’re going to buy our new house. We’re so excited to start this new chapter and really can’t wait to call this wonderful place our home.
